THE HIDDEN GEMS OF TESSALONIK
Did you ever visit Greece? In particular, Tessalonik? If you didn.t, one day, you should do it! I guess, you won.t regret it 🙂 It is the second town, as size, from the country, after Athens- the capital of Greece. Everywhere you go, you will meet so much urban street: on the buildings walls, on the buses walls. It.s so cool, in strong vibrant colors!
The town is full of buildings, almost glued to one another and through them, you can see so many ancient arhitectural buildings, artifacts, from the earlyer centuries. The city is full of history. Everywhere you go, you will meet a wall, or a half building from ages, who speaks its story, its real history, to people.
In the centre of the Tessalonik, there are a few boulevards full of greek clothes shopes, coffee shops, restaurants and so many beautiful pastries, where you can buy almost every cake with 1 euro. So funny, ha?
It.s worth to visit (even you are not ortodox), Saint Dimitrios Church. It.s so..so beautiful! There is another Church in this city who has an Icon of Virgin Mary who fulfills every desire…(good one, of course). So….the land of Greece is full of Saints who are making wonders. I was staying at Park Hotel, in the centre of the city. So beautiful hotel! I recommend you, with all my heart! Even if it.s a three stars hotel, from the beginning, I say it.s a four stars hotel. All their services, the hotel.s conditions are so good and provides high quality. I was impressed by the Reception Staff: very well trained, so respectful and they speak in a very clear english. I tell you, there aren.t many places where hotel staff can answer your questions, before you ask! The rooms are very beautiful & good equiped. Every time I.ll visit Tessalonik, I.ll stay here, for sure! Another gem is a Coffee Shop!! Yes!!!! I adore coffee! Tried so many cafe shops in Tesalonik, but the best coffee in town is, probably, at Coffee Island.
It.s a cafe shop in the centre. Here, you can discover the Heaven of Coffee. The Coffee of the Coffees. Uh..so damn good. And what a flavour is inside of the shop! Here, too, you.ll fiind many tipes of tea, mixtures, tea infusions. My fav is GunPowder. It smells so cool! If you want to shop greek clothes, you can do it on the Egnatia Boulevard, or Tsimiski Boulevard. There are many greek shops with dresses in sea colors, or sky colors, or even better in greek joy colors! The promenade aria, is the city cliff, where you can admire Aegean Sea. All over of this area, you can find cafes, restaurants and clubs, with an well-outlined nightlife.
Well, I hope I managed to get you, into the cosmopolit atmosphere of Tessalonik. I let you with my photos and with my advice: When you will have the mood, come to Tessalonik! Eat a traditional greek dish, have a glass of ouzo ( greek traditional drink), take a romantic walk on the city cliff, enjoy a good coffee and feel the greek history everywhere.
